part 2

I know the last post was quite sometime ago but I promise to be more consistent. So I thought I would give you a few suggestions in a three part look series on dressing as young royal, inspired by young HRH.

Here’s a concept, HRH the Prince of Wales.  With all the hoopla about heritage, craftsmanship and sartorial relevance- especially the recent men’s shows in Paris and Milan- I don’t understand how HRH has not been chosen as la muse du jour. Which ever way you feel about european monarchy, the British one more precisely, remember this is only in the purpose of louk!
Prince Charles may not be the obvious choice in terms of concept but his awkwardness, his strict double breasted Savile Row suits, not to mention the legacy of the throne, the big ears and all makes him an ideal choice and quite au courant!
I am particularly keen on early adulthood to single in the city Prince Charles…. ok up to Diana the early years but after that it not as relevant. There are so many ways he can be of influence and inspiration that I will attempt a few sketches and post them soon.

MMJ, MALE MARY JANES

I found these shoes not long ago simply by wandering around the city like the littlest hobo- an old Canadian show, youtube it! Only in the northern country could they make a show about a dog going from town to town solo. Anyway!
Is there someone by the name of Luigi, Andrea or Pier Paolo in some northern region of Italy who’s family has been making shoes since the 4th century A.D. who wants to help me out with a pair of male mary janes here, per favore!  There’s a proper name for these shoes but mmj pleases me more… It could be such a great collaboration, si certo!
They have a certain 1900’s feel to them that I really like. To make them au courant, not using “modern” here because of serious abuse of the word, we could change a few things: removing the stitching, changing the buckle, adding new colors, opting for a higher leather quality and mixing different types of fabrication- seriously these look and feel like bad imitation plastic- however definitely keeping the heel.
I feel the mmj would be an interesting addition for those who favor cropped pants, since they can’t seam to go away, yet they work well also for those who like a slim leg with a bit of drape down there.
